Sugar is tasty and anyone that says otherwise, lies. Life can be unfair, tasty things are not always healthy. Once you know the damage of sugar overconsumption, you will look at this in another way.
How to know that you consume too much sugar? These are the signs:
1. LACK OF ENERGY AND FATIGUE
Feeling with fatigue is the biggest such signs. Sugary foods give a carb boost and short time of energy so the crash diet is daunting. Feeling tired is a sign to change the diet.
2. CARB AND SUGAR CRAVINGS
If you crave these all the time, you might be sugar addicted. This makes chain reaction to the cravings.
3. COLD AND FLU ALL THE TIME
If you are ill most of the time, you need to cut back the sugar. If viruses get to you, remove desserts of the menu. This weakens the immunity and you cannot naturally fight illnesses.
4. FOGGY BRAIN AFTER A MEAL
This means low blood sugar. When you eat sugars, the blood sugar spikes fast instead of gradually. Bad blood sugar control is a risk for cognition, says Alpert.
5. NOTHING IS AS SWEET AS IT USED TO BE
Too much sugar kills the taste buds. Alpert adds that sugar overkill makes sugar taste buds numb more and more. They will need more sugar to feel the sweetness again to base level. If you cut back early, it will be easier to get minimal sugar in the end.
6. FEET AND SKIN ISSUES AND DARK UNDEREYE CIRCLES
Sugar makes inflammation when eaten and makes skin issues and inflammations. If you have rosacea, eczema, acne, oiliness, dryness, sugar is to blame. Cutting back on sugar resolves skin issues and health. Dr. Sherri Greene, podiatrist of NY, said sugar makes inflammation in feet. This might happen as plantar fasciitis and makes pain in the thick band of tissue across the foot soles, heels and more. Also sugar causes darker skin under the eyes.
7. WEIGHT GAIN
Sugar is calories, and no fiber, no proteins so this makes more insulin, hormone for weight gain. When you eat sugar, pancreas makes insulin and this carries the sugar to organs for energy. When you stack up on sugars, you make more insulin and this makes insulin resistance. This means no normal response to insulin and weight gain. But, there is also a link between obesity and insulin resistance. And….the pancreas overworks and thus you are at risk for diabetes.
