When you are buying fruits and some vegetables, you have probably noticed that some of them have stickers. Have you ever wondered what do these stickers mean?
What Do Those Codes On Stickers Of Fruits And Some Veggies Mean?
The stickers attached to the fruits contain codes that reveal information about how the product was cultivated, so, the next time you are at the supermarket, you may pay more attention to the products that you are buying.
The codes on the stickers of the fruits contain 4 or 5 numbers which show how the plants were grown.
- If there are 4 digital numbers on the sticker that start with the numbers 3 or 4, these products were cultivated in the second half of the 20th century by using artificial fertilizers.
- If there are 5 digital numbers that start with the number 8, these fruits are GMO products, or genetically modified.
- If there are 5 digital numbers that start with the number 9, these fruits are organic. This means that they were cultivated in a traditional way without using any pesticides and fertilizers.
