Trataka exercise is actually fookusing your look on a particular point, for instance a small object, black spot or candle light. This will help you develop focus, stimulate the third eye and strenghten of the eyesight.

The first phase includes focusing on a symbol or some object. You need to stare at it constantly, paying attention to every emotion and every thought, releasing them in order to have your mind concentrated on the symbol with clear thoughts.

Once you notice tears in your eyes, you need to shut them down and rest for a while. The goal of this exercise is to endure as much as you can before tears start to flow from your eyes.
